Summer camps at Ford Castle are built on three pillars:

  • Building confidence
  • Self belief
  • Discovery

Each day is spent in a friendly learning environment with enthusiastic group leaders and qualified teachers. We encourage students to develop on a physical, emotional and intellectual level by providing:

  • 3 hours of English in the morning
  • 3 hours of sports activities in the afternoon
  • Animations and entertainment throughout the day

Some days are spent on excursions to local, exciting places which appeal to our students’ curiosity and thirst for fun. Inside the castle, students stay in cosy bedrooms with private bathrooms. With a maximum of eight children per room, and animators nearby, we manage a good balance between camaraderie and sleep.

Meals at the castle are prepared by a dedicated kitchen team. They plan healthy and varied menus, which include traditional English meals, as well as international dishes, which appeal to young palates. We provide plenty of food, and we encourage everyone to try something new – the students are always surprised to enjoy English food!

For breakfast, we combine a traditional English breakfast of Marmite on toast, cereal or bacon, and French pastries for a multicultural experience.

The buffet at noon allows everyone to compose their own lunch, with fresh fruit, salads, sandwiches and juice.

In keeping with English tradition, a big dinner is served every evening. We serve a starter, a main course and dessert to fill hungry bellies. Everybody loves the roast chicken, Yorkshire pudding, and vegetables with gravy… but the longstanding favourite is apple crumble and custard. Mmm… Delicious
